[Odawara City, Kanagawa] First in the prefecture! Odawara Pharmacists Association designated as a heatstroke prevention organization

Odawara City began accepting applications for heatstroke prevention organizations in April and has now designated the Odawara Pharmacists Association as the first such organization in Kanagawa Prefecture. The association will cooperate in monitoring and reaching out to local residents, combining public administration support with private sector assistance to address heatstroke. On Thursday, May 14, a designation ceremony was held, where the Mayor of Odawara presented the designation notice to the association's chairman, Mr. Chikatsu Watanabe. The system was established following the 2023 amendment to the Climate Change Adaptation Act. Activities will include awareness campaigns for businesses and citizens, encouraging preventive actions among the elderly, and providing consultation services.
