Date: June 10 (Wed) – August 2 (Sun), 2026, 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM. Location: Kyushu Historical Museum, Exhibition Room 1. Content: 2026 marks the 150th anniversary of the establishment of Fukuoka Prefecture in its current form in 1876. To commemorate this, the exhibition uses historical documents to introduce the history of how the former domains, such as the Fukuoka Domain, navigated the turmoil of the Meiji Restoration and the abolition of the han system to form the current Fukuoka Prefecture. Additionally, a replica of a late Edo period Japanese flag made with Chikuzen madder dye, donated by Iizuka City, will be on special display. A gallery talk by a curator will be held on June 26.
