[Shirakawa Village Official] Shirakawa-go Parking Reservation Site Opens June 1, 2026

Shirakawa Village in Gifu Prefecture is transitioning its group bus parking to a mandatory advance reservation system (no same-day bookings) to reduce congestion and ensure a comfortable environment at the Ogimachi World Heritage village. Ahead of the operational launch on December 1, 2026, online reservations will begin on the official website 'Shirakawa-go Parking' starting from 10:00 AM on Monday, June 1, 2026.

1. Overview of the Reservation System - Reservation Start Date: Monday, June 1, 2026, from 10:00 AM - Service Start Date: From December 1, 2026 usage *Note: No reservations are required for use between June 1, 2026, and November 30, 2026. - Target Vehicles: Tour buses (large, medium, micro-buses) that utilize bus parking spaces. - How to Book: Online via the 'Shirakawa-go Parking' website (URL: https://parking.shirakawa-going.jp/). - Target Parking Area: Village-run Seseragi Park Parking.

2. Key Rules for Group Bus Parking Figure 2: Booking Procedure - Mandatory Advance Reservations: Starting December 1, 2026, group bus parking will require prior booking. Same-day reservations are not allowed. - User Registration: Registration on the 'Shirakawa-go Parking' website is required before making a booking. - Booking Period: Reservations can be made up to 8 months in advance (12 months for educational travel). Booking slots for each month will be added sequentially on the 1st of each month at 10:00 AM (See Figure 3). - Capacity Limits: Up to 3 buses can be booked per group online. For 4 or more buses, please contact the 'Shirakawa-go Parking Call Center' after user registration. - Changes and Cancellations: Accepted until 11:00 AM the day before use via the 'My Page' on the website. - Parking Permits: After booking, users must download and print the 'Parking Permit' in A3 size and display it prominently for parking staff.
