Shimane Denko Launches Disability Art Exhibition in Office in Collaboration with Iwami Welfare Association's 'Art Base Shimaneiro'

Shimane Denko Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Matsue, Shimane; President: Koichi Nozu), which aims for carbon neutrality by 2050 and contributes to regional development under the slogan 'Creating an Ordinary Daily Life,' has initiated a lease-based exhibition of works by artists with disabilities in collaboration with 'Art Base Shimaneiro' (Shimane Prefectural Disability Culture and Art Activity Support Center), operated by the Iwami Welfare Association (Headquarters: Hamada, Shimane; Board Chair: Tomie Murozaki).

This initiative involves rotating four artworks every six months at Shimane Denko's corporate headquarters. Beyond decorating the office, the project aims to support the continuous creative activities and social independence of the artists, contributing to an inclusive society where everyone's personality is respected.

Background and Purpose: Contribution to an Inclusive Society through Art The company deeply resonates with the activities of 'Art Base Shimaneiro,' which is commissioned by Shimane Prefecture to support the free expression and social participation of individuals with disabilities. Displaying works by these artists is not merely for decoration; it is considered a valuable opportunity to support their 'creative continuity' and 'social independence.' Current Exhibited Works (As of May 2026) The following four works are currently on display at the headquarters: - 'Tenten' by Teruaki Yamamoto (beside the 1F front entrance) - 'Yamata no Orochi' by Akira Maeda (beside the 1F front entrance) - 'Uchujin' (Alien) by Teruaki Nagato (in front of the 4F lunch hall) - 'Minna' (Everyone) by Chiyoko Yamamoto (in front of the 4F lunch hall) Visitors are invited to stop and experience the passion and stories embedded in each painting.
