Tokushima City has announced the first "Lexi Photo Tokushima" event, titled "Photographing Jorokuji Temple," which will take place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00. Jorokuji Temple, an ancient temple in Tokushima, is known for its deep history, having been established in the Asuka period and serving as a family temple for the Hosokawa and Hachisuka clans. It is also famous for its autumn leaves and beautiful green foliage in early summer. Participants aged 15 and above, bringing their own camera (smartphones are acceptable, but digital cameras are recommended for easier review), will receive explanations on the temple's history from a museum curator and photography guidance from Mr. Terufumi Ueno, a professional photographer. The event is free, limited to 15 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are currently being accepted at the Tokushima City Archaeological Museum. After the event, participants are asked to provide one selected photo for potential display at the museum or on its website.
