Hunting and game meat ("jibier") have been gaining increasing attention in recent years.
To address common concerns such as "I'm interested in hunting but don't know how to get started" or "I've obtained a license but feel anxious about entering the field," Tokushima Prefecture has opened applications for its hands-on hunter training program, the 'Tokushima Hunting School (Fiscal 2026)'.
The program offers two courses: a 'License Acquisition Support Course' for those without a hunting license, and a 'Practical Skills Course' for those with limited experience. Experienced hunters will provide comprehensive support—from hunting license exam preparation to capture techniques and game meat utilization. The program seeks 20 new participants (first-come, first-served) to become the next generation of stewards in preserving and utilizing local natural resources.
