Nippon CMK Signs Platinum Sponsorship Agreement with AstroX to Strengthen Space Market Entry

Nippon CMK Corporation announced that it has signed a platinum sponsorship agreement with space startup AstroX, Inc.

Background and Purpose of Sponsorship: AstroX is developing next-generation space transport services using its unique 'Rockoon' method, which involves floating rockets to the stratosphere before launching them in mid-air. Nippon CMK chose to enter this sponsorship agreement, resonating with this new technology that offers higher energy efficiency, lower costs, and reduced vibration compared to conventional rockets.

Nippon CMK has been producing and selling printed circuit boards (PCBs) globally for over 60 years. In the automotive market in particular, we provide high-reliability PCBs that meet stringent requirements for high temperature, vibration, and long service life, earning high acclaim in the field. Since 2023, we have been strengthening sales efforts in the space market, including obtaining JAXA certification.

In recent years, the commercial space market has been expanding globally, with new industries forming domestically centered on rockets, satellites, and space communications. There is an increasing demand for high-reliability electronic components that can operate stably in harsh environments for space equipment, and we believe there is high affinity with the automotive quality technology we have cultivated over many years. Against this background, we have positioned the space market as a future growth area and are strengthening cooperation with space-related companies. This sponsorship agreement with AstroX is part of that initiative.

Through this agreement, we will deepen technical exchanges and market understanding within the space industry and accelerate the expansion of our high-reliability PCBs into the space sector.
