Japan Energy Storage Development Institute (JESDI) (Headquarters: Tokyo; Representative Director: Akira Hoshino) is pleased to announce that it completed power reception on March 27, 2026, at the 'Kaminara Power Storage Station,' a grid-scale battery project developed in Kumagaya City, Saitama Prefecture. This project is JESDI's second domestic power reception site, following the Aisho Town Power Storage Station in Shiga Prefecture, and marks the first implementation of a grid-scale energy storage system manufactured by HOBE ENERGY. ■ Installation Overview The power station utilizes a 5ft compact energy storage system from HOBE ENERGY. This serves as the first grid-scale track record for HOBE ENERGY and represents a new implementation model for JESDI, featuring a novel equipment configuration and collaboration framework. Compared to industry-standard 20ft containers, this system is easier to transport and install, making it highly adaptable to sites with narrow access roads or sharp curves, thereby establishing a grid-scale storage model that overcomes land constraints. Furthermore, by completing power reception in approximately four months from the start of construction, the project has demonstrated the reproducibility of a process that enables rapid market entry.
