The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will host the 'Monozukuri & Takumi Skills Festival 2026,' an event dedicated to showcasing the charm of traditional craftsmanship and manufacturing skills. To inspire youth and women to engage with skilled trades and become future leaders in the field, the festival will offer enriched hands-on programs and opportunities to interact with master artisans, serving as a first step into the world of craftsmanship.

【Youth Demonstration Stage P1】

High school and vocational school students will take the stage, presenting the appeal and future potential of craftsmanship careers under the guidance of master artisans. Festival supporters Nozomi Honda and Sara Honda will also appear on stage on rotating days.

【Stage of Master Artisans' Excellence P2】

Master artisans, including recipients of the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon and female skilled workers, will perform live. Attendees can experience traditional techniques and exceptional craftsmanship up close.

【Hands-on Career Experience Programs with Masters P3】

Over 100 programs will be offered, including creating one-of-a-kind artworks (bamboo candle making) and vocational experiences (earthen wall plastering).

【Special Exhibition: The Artistry of Master Craftsmanship P3】

In addition to a tea room showcasing the finest of traditional architecture and displays of traditional craftworks, the exhibition will feature futuristic elements such as the integration of AI with artisan techniques and robot experience zones.

【Consultation Corner: Speak Directly with Masters】

A new consultation corner will be introduced, allowing those interested in craftsmanship careers to speak directly with master artisans in their fields of interest.
