Toho Leo Co., Ltd., Japan GX Group Inc., and the Hosome University Cross-disciplinary Lab have announced the launch of a regional co-creation program centered on the "Yasakunaritai. STUDIO" pavilion, which Toho Leo will develop at GREEN×EXPO 2027 opening on March 19, 2027, in Yokohama.
This program goes beyond the role of an exhibition space, serving as a collaboration foundation to cultivate and promote sustainable social implementation models. It invites corporations, local governments, researchers, and local actors to participate in comprehensively advancing environmental conservation, regional economic revitalization, participation mechanisms, and evaluation methodologies.
The initiative addresses challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and shrinking regional economies. Resolving these requires an integrated foundation that links environmental policy with regional industry and academic insights. The three parties will foster this implementation hub through field practices and research collaboration.
The roles of each entity are as follows: Toho Leo leverages its on-site knowledge of greening and regional development to build implementation spaces. Japan GX Group designs the operational infrastructure for commercialization, participation design, and data-driven sustainability. The Hosome University Cross-disciplinary Lab is responsible for building evaluation metrics to capture changes in natural capital and providing academic translation of practical knowledge.
Moving forward, they will launch pioneering field practices starting in fiscal year 2026 and present the results during the Expo in 2027. They will continue these activities beyond the event as a framework to connect practices across various regions.
