Headquartered in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, where high-quality silk fabrics have been produced, the company holds the largest share in Japan for kimono aftercare and sewing. To foster a new silk industry, they succeeded in mass-producing the rare 'midorimayu' (green cocoon) variety using sterile artificial feeding continuous silkworm farming technology. Since 2018, they have been manufacturing and selling cosmetics and fabric products as Kinu Seikatsu Kenkyujo products, using silk components extracted from midorimayu.
