'Hibi', a store-integrated rental housing of the highly insulated and airtight housing brand 'Asu-haus' born in Aoba-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, produced by the GREENOVATION Promotion Office of Asahi Kasei Homes Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) and planned and community-supported by Mamekurashi Inc. (Headquarters: Nerima-ku, Tokyo). From June 1, 2026, trial operation of 'hibi table', a shared space that supports diverse activities of local residents, has started. The shared space is a demonstration experiment that broadly supports the activities of each individual, such as workspaces, community exchange plans, and workshops utilizing hobbies. Along with this, we are starting to recruit individuals and groups who want to try using this facility.
A connection with the community that sprouted from a marche in a home where small business is possible
'Hibi' has an earthen floor space (doma) on part of the 1st floor that can be used as a store, and the rest of the 1st and 2nd floors are residential spaces, realizing a 'work-live integration' lifestyle. By opening a shop or classroom in part of your home while living there, you can fulfill a life where you don't give up on anything - time spent with family, time working or doing hobbies, and the small shop you always wanted to open. An earthen floor space where you can express what you like, such as lining up hobby goods to open a shop only on weekends, or holding cooking classes. We aim to nurture an everyday life where living, business, and the community gently overlap, and casual words like 'Good morning', 'Have a good day', and 'That's delicious' are naturally exchanged even among people other than family.
At the marche event held to commemorate the opening on March 15, 2026, more than 400 local residents visited. On the day, 7 stores practicing community opening and small businesses in Aoba-ku gathered to embody the kind of scenery that would be born if shops started at 'Hibi'. It was a day to realize the potential of a place where home and community overlap and new connections, with many conversations and comfortable scenery born. A marche visited by neighbors saying 'I was curious' and 'What are you making?'. A bookstore that opened in Room 002. Selected books were lined up on shelves and pegboards. A flower shop that opened in Room 003. In the kitchen connected to the earthen floor, familiar customers could be seen taking a break.
'hibi table', a shared space for small challenges
This time, in order to deepen and expand the connections born at the marche, we are opening the shared space, the core of the building, to the community. It is a place where you can first try out 'what you wanted to do' on a small scale, not only for use as a workspace where you can concentrate on work or tasks, or as a place for exchange with local residents, but also for gatherings to enjoy seasonal food, flower arrangement classes, parent-child art workshops, etc. Precisely because how to use it has not yet been decided, we will nurture it as a place for challenges open to the community, where various attempts can be made. <Accompaniment support by community manager> The certified NPO 'Mori no Oto', which operates local media based in Aoba-ku, Yokohama City, will serve as a community manager, taking charge of on-site operations and building connections with the community. You can consult with them from the idea stage of 'I want to try something like this', and they will accompany the activities of all users.
<Comfortable environment unique to Asu-haus> With the highest standard of insulation and airtightness performance, we provide a high-quality space where both active people and visiting guests can spend time comfortably, regardless of the season or weather.
