On April 29, 2026, Afriansyah Noor, Deputy Minister of Manpower of Indonesia, visited two schools operated by Upty Global (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Hideaki Ida), a company that recruits Specified Skilled Workers for the automotive industry. He highly evaluated the facilities and the quality of education provided.
The Deputy Minister is also scheduled to visit the company's Tokyo headquarters in the near future.
Inspection of 'Upty Global Training Center'
The 'Upty Global Training Center,' the first facility visited by the Deputy Minister, is a full-time residential school exclusively for Specified Skilled Workers who have already received job offers from Japanese companies through Upty Global. The center focuses on final training in automotive maintenance and Japanese language proficiency to prepare them for employment in Japan.
After inspecting the facilities and curriculum, the Deputy Minister addressed the students, stating, 'A private company, Upty Global, has created such excellent facilities and an educational system that the government itself could not. Please be aware that you are representatives of Indonesia, study hard, and succeed in Japan.'
Inspection of 'LPK Global Academic'
The next stop was 'LPK Global Academic,' a full-time residential Japanese language school only for students who have graduated from maintenance universities or vocational schools and wish to work in Japan. Through a 5-month intensive program featuring 7 hours of daily classes and dormitory life, the school teaches not only Japanese language but also Japanese manners and lifestyle rules.
The Deputy Minister toured the classrooms and dormitories and engaged in active discussions with the students. He encouraged them, saying, 'While there are many Japanese language schools in Indonesia, schools supervised by Japanese individuals are rare. This is an environment where meals and lodging are guaranteed, allowing you to focus on your studies. You are the ones who will build the future of Indonesia. I have high expectations for you.'
Comments from the Deputy Minister
'Upty Global is a company that acts as a bridge between Indonesia and Japan. While the Indonesian government is committed to human resource development, achieving the quality demanded by Japan is difficult under the management of an Indonesian company. The Japanese-style education operated, supervised, and staffed by Japanese people is a valuable learning experience even for the government.'
'For the sake of Indonesia's future, the government will continue to cooperate with Upty Global to cultivate higher-quality human resources.'
