DeNA/Allm Introduces 'Portable Clinic' to Minister of Defense for High-Quality Medical Care Anywhere

DeNA Co., Ltd. and its subsidiary Allm Inc. demonstrated their integrated remote medical support solution, 'Join Mobile Clinic' (JMC), to the Minister of Defense, Shinjiro Koizumi, at the Ministry of Defense on June 1, 2026. Following the newly permitted expansion of six lifesaving measures that Self-Defense Force personnel can perform in the field as of May 2026, DeNA and Allm proposed the potential of remote medical support to leverage specialist expertise even in environments with limited medical access.

<Demonstration Overview> During the demonstration, they showcased the end-to-end flow from capturing inspection data using portable medical devices included in JMC, such as ultrasound (echography), X-ray equipment, and fundus cameras, to transmitting this data to specialists at remote locations via the medical professional communication app 'Join'. Defense Minister Koizumi showed great interest in JMC's equipment lineup and remote diagnosis capabilities, as well as in new approaches to medical care delivery in restricted access environments.

<Potential for JMC in Restricted Medical Access Environments> On May 15, 2026, the Ministry of Defense revised its directive to expand the scope of responses, allowing Self-Defense Force personnel to perform procedures previously limited to doctors, which is expected to improve the survival rate of field personnel. However, the time required to reach a physician remains a challenge. In Western countries, there are Emergency Medical Technicians called 'Paramedics' who perform advanced first aid and life-saving medical care. Allm explained that by combining JMC's remote medical support with the expansion of initial responses possible on-site, it is possible to contribute to further improving the survival rate in environments with limited medical access.

Moving forward, Allm aims to realize equitable medical care for all by expanding its remote medical support business through the integration of Join with various medical devices and by promoting medical DX.

About 'Join' A communication app developed and provided by Allm Inc. that allows medical professionals to communicate in a highly secure environment. With an integrated DICOM viewer, it is used for medical image consultation with doctors off-site during nights or holidays, and for hospital-to-hospital cooperation and information sharing during patient transfers. It is the first program-based medical device listed under Japanese insurance, and has obtained certifications in Japan, the US (FDA), Europe (CE), Brazil, Saudi Arabia, etc.

About 'Join Mobile Clinic' An integrated remote medical support solution developed by Allm to provide medical care by specialists in places lacking medical resources. JMC is useful when necessary medical resources increase rapidly due to natural disasters, conflict zones, or pandemics, or when resources are limited in locations like remote islands, mining sites, or ships. JMC enables specialists' diagnoses and advice by: 1) delivering portable medical equipment like X-ray and ultrasound to resource-poor areas, 2) recording patient data using the connected 'JoinNotePad' system, and 3) linking this data with 'Join' to transmit it to remote locations.
