The project 'Dialogue between Art and Technology (DAT)', which aims to train experts in the fields of media art and digital art, will hold a special session featuring musician Haruomi Hosono on Wednesday, May 27.
This lecture series is a program that started in November 2025, covering a wide range of themes such as media, technology, art, and philosophy, with the goal of fostering new ideas and thoughts in a digital environment. Led by media artist Masaki Fujibata, the series has welcomed guests like Sunny Cheung (Curator of Design and Architecture at M+), Daisuke Harashima (Foundational Informatics/Cultural Representation Theory), and Miki Okubo (Aesthetics/Arts and Media Sciences, Associate Professor at IAMAS), attracting approximately 300 participants to date.
On Sunday, May 3, philosopher Yuk Hui will speak at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media [YCAM] on the theme 'The Future Role of Art and Philosophy.'

1. Lecture Series: 'Conceptual Construction of Art & Technology' (7 sessions + Special Session) This program is designed to contemplate the contemporary role of art in light of technological progress and to acquire a critical perspective. It aims to help participants understand changes in the social environment caused by digital media and international trends in the art scene, fostering new ways of thinking. Artistic expression through digital technology is gaining attention not only in the arts but also in business, entertainment, and public services. This course aims to refer back to its history to form new art forms for the future.
