King Fisher Co., Ltd. (593 Otsurenzawa, Otawara City, Tochigi Prefecture, Representative Director: Fuminori Tezuka) will hold an experiential event themed on climate change countermeasures, "CAST FOR THE FUTURE," on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at our managed fishing area, "Anglers Park King Fisher" (same location).

This event, born from the desire to "preserve fishing for the next 100 years," is a participatory event where participants can enjoy learning about the impact of climate change on fishing and aquaculture from an angler's perspective, and consider actions they can take.

This initiative, led by a managed fishing area and directly addressing climate change, is rare nationwide. King Fisher positions this event as the first step in "Climate Change Action by Anglers."

Background of This Event

This event was born from the desire to "preserve fishing for the next 100 years."

In recent years, the impacts of climate change, such as record-breaking heatwaves, heavy rainfall, and droughts, have become increasingly severe across the country. The environment surrounding fishing is no exception. Rainbow trout, a popular target for anglers, are sensitive to high water temperatures and are known to suffer significant damage when the water temperature exceeds 20°C.

According to future projections released by Tochigi Prefecture, if no additional greenhouse gas emission reduction measures are taken (SSP5-8.5), the average temperature in the prefecture is predicted to rise by approximately 4.5 to 5.5°C by the end of the 21st century compared to the end of the 20th century.

At King Fisher, we feel these changes firsthand every day.

Despite our environment utilizing the abundant spring water from the Nasu mountain range, we have seen an increase in days where fish activity declines due to rising water temperatures in recent years. Furthermore, a drought in the spring of 2026 caused severe damage to the fish. Additionally, damage to fish farms from high temperatures and heavy rainfall has occurred in various locations, leading to unstable fish procurement and rising fish prices.

We did not want to accept this change as "just nature's way."

If climate change continues at this pace, a future may arrive where our children cannot enjoy rainbow trout fishing in 100 years.

What we want to protect is not just the fish.

It is the culture of fishing itself, which captivates people.

The Future Aimed for by the Brand "Be Passionate."

Brand Message

King Fisher's brand message is "Be Passionate."

We believe that time spent immersed in nature enriches life and that hobbies provide vitality.

Therefore, it is our mission to preserve that time for the next 100 years.

A fishing spot is not just a place to catch fish.

We want it to be a place to face nature, connect with others, and think about the future.

"CAST FOR THE FUTURE" is a challenge that gives form to that desire.

Event Content

At the event, we have prepared content that allows participants to enjoy learning about the seemingly difficult theme of "climate change" from an angler's perspective.

Participants will tour various booths in a stamp rally format, learning about environmental actions they can practice in their daily lives and through fishing. We will have experience booths on energy saving and renewable energy, with cooperation from the General Incorporated Association Forward to 1985 energy life (sponsor) and local company Saito Kensetsu Co., Ltd. We will also have food and drink booths themed on local production for local consumption, with cooperation from Furuya Farm. Additionally, demonstrations of power supply from an "Outlander PHEV" with cooperation from Higashi Nihon Mitsubishi Motor Sales Co., Ltd., and rainbow trout salt-grilling experiences using a solar cooker with cooperation from the Tochigi Prefecture Global Warming Prevention Activity Promotion Center (sponsor), as well as "Uchi Eco" (home eco) diagnostics, will be held for families to enjoy and learn.

Furthermore, those who complete all booths will receive an original spoon with a limited event design.

Limited Edition Original Lure

We want to convey environmental issues not as "something to endure," but as "choices for enjoying the future."

Anglers are among the first to feel changes in water temperature, water levels, seasons, and fish behavior. Therefore, we believe that anglers can take specific actions against climate change.

"Your cast today creates fishing for 100 years from now."

We hope this event will be an opportunity for as many people as possible to think about the future of nature and take the first step towards passing on a rich fishing culture to the next generation.

About Representative Director Fuminori Tezuka

Representative Director of King Fisher Co., Ltd., Vice Chairman of the Nasunogahara Junior Chamber, Inc. for 2026, and Global Warming Prevention Activity Committee Member for Tochigi Prefecture.

Born in Otawara City, Tochigi Prefecture in 1993.

After graduating from the Faculty of Economics at Saitama University, he worked in planning and tour conducting at a travel agency. In 2018, he returned to his hometown to take over the family business, which was facing a management crisis, and joined King Fisher Co., Ltd. He turned the company, which had been in a state of accumulated deficit for many years, around and became Representative Director in 2025.

Based on the concept of "Living in Harmony with Nature" passed down since the company's founding, and with the brand message "Be Passionate," he is working to evolve the managed fishing area from "a place to catch fish" to "a place that provides time to be passionate in nature."

Comments from Our Representative Director

Witnessing the suffering of the fish during the summer heat of 2025 and the drought in the spring of 2026, I felt a strong sense of crisis that "fishing will be impossible in 100 years if we continue like this."

What we want to protect is not just the fish.

It is the "culture of fishing" that enriches our lives by allowing us to be passionate in nature.

Anglers are sometimes called "guardians of the waterside."

As those who receive so many benefits from nature, we want to take the first step to protect the future.

I would be happy if "CAST FOR THE FUTURE" becomes the start of a new movement: "Climate Change Action by Anglers."

Please join us as a partner in protecting fishing for the next 100 years.
