CDI Hosts 40th Anniversary Party
Corporate Directions, Inc. (CDI; Head office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Tatsuhiro Ogawa) held its 40th Anniversary Party at Meiji Kinenkan on May 15, 2026.
### Founding Spirit and Future Outlook
Since its founding in 1986, CDI has served as Japan's first independent management consulting firm, dedicated to addressing corporate transformation, business creation, and management reform. Celebrating 40 years, this milestone event brought together current team members, alumni from various eras, and key stakeholders to share the journey and future vision of CDI.
The event featured an opening address by Representative Director Tatsuhiro Ogawa, a traditional Kagami-biraki (sake barrel breaking) ceremony by successive generations of members, messages from alumni to current consultants, a handover ceremony for the alumni association, and introductions to international offices. Attendees viewed videos and materials documenting the company's history of challenges since its inception.
### Passing the Spirit of 'Connecting Strategy with Execution'
Since its inception, CDI has prioritized 'connecting strategy with execution,' providing practical support for corporate transformation in areas such as corporate revitalization, business structure reform, new business development, dialogue with shareholders and capital markets, and international expansion support. In recent years, the firm has strengthened its global and multi-faceted management support system through the expansion of Asian bases, the establishment of specialized subsidiaries, and partnerships with overseas research firms.
This 40th-anniversary event served as a platform for generations—from founding members to young consultants—to reaffirm that CDI’s spirit of 'facing continuous change' is being passed on to the next generation.
CDI will continue to accompany its clients in 'corporate transformation and business creation,' meeting the challenges of an ever-changing era.
