On May 17, 2026, in Brooklyn, New York, the global phenomenon known as "City Pop" manifested in reality. Singer-songwriter Anri held her first-ever solo concert at the historic Brooklyn Paramount as part of her North American tour, "City Pop Waves: ANRI LIVE 2026 U.S.A Timely!!".
Anri, known for hits like "Remember Summer Days," "Last Summer Whisper," and "Kanashimi ga Tomaranai," has been garnering global acclaim over the last decade through music streaming and international performances. This tour consists of three shows in total: one in New York and two in Los Angeles (including an additional show).
The venue, Brooklyn Paramount, features beautiful 1920s decorations and has hosted numerous legendary artists. Tickets were completely sold out, and the venue presented Anri with a "Sold Out Plate" to celebrate the achievement. When Anri took the stage to the refined groove of her band, the energy reached its peak, and spontaneous sing-alongs erupted throughout the venue. Anri expressed her gratitude during the MC, and this night proved that City Pop is not just a passing trend but a "real culture" that has taken root worldwide.
The tour moves to Los Angeles the next day, where two final performances will be held.
