Art Playground Equipment by Sculptor Taku Obata to Appear in Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park's Urban Sports Area

The "BUTTAI" playground equipment, developed by Jakuets Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tsuruga, Fukui; President: Tatsuro Tokumoto) and sculptor Taku Obata, will be installed in the newly constructed Urban Sports Area at Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park. An opening event will be held on Sunday, May 31st. About the Urban Sports Area: A new urban sports area for skateboarding, inline skating, and BMX has been completed next to the Youth Sports Plaza in Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park. The facility is designed for beginners and children, with the concept of an "open space where anyone can easily drop by, enjoy, and be watched over safely." [About the Opening Event] The opening event will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Sports Plaza. *Participation is free. Part 1: Opening Ceremony hosted by Saitama Prefecture. Time: 9:30-10:00. Opening declaration, tree planting event. Let's plant cherry trees together. Part 2: Hands-on event hosted by the Tokorozawa Skateboarding Association. Food trucks will be available.
