SPINGLE and Mazda Release Second Collaboration Sneaker

SPINGLE COMPANY (Headquarters: Fuchu City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Takahisa Uchida; hereinafter 'SPINGLE') and Mazda Motor Corporation (Headquarters: Fuchu Town, Aki District, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Katsuhiro Moro; hereinafter 'Mazda') will sequentially release their second collaboration sneaker, the 'SP-MZD', starting at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 25. The sneakers will be available at the Mazda Online Shop, 14 SPINGLE stores nationwide including SPINGLE Ginza, the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building B1F Men's Shoe Department, and the official SPINGLE online store.

Background of the Collaboration

SPINGLE and Mazda, both companies originating from Hiroshima, share many commonalities, including a commitment to unique craftsmanship. While SPINGLE's shoes are favored by many Mazda car owners for their ease of driving, SPINGLE also found Mazda's car designs, which utilize beautiful curves, highly attractive. This mutual resonance led to sharing thoughts and values regarding craftsmanship through mutual tours of each other's factories and museums. After about two years, the first collaboration sneaker, 'SP-MX5', which fused the appeal of the different fields of automobiles and shoes, was released in May 2025.

This second collaboration, 'SP-MZD', was completed by changing the colors and some details based on the 'SP-MX5'.

1) Styling Design

While reflecting the simple and beautiful forms of Mazda cars, the design softly arches along the curves of the foot, achieving lines that look beautiful from any angle, similar to car styling.

It is a styling design that fuses the precise design cultivated by Mazda in car manufacturing with the handmade warmth created by SPINGLE's craftsmen. Furthermore, to ensure smooth transitions between the accelerator and brake, the heel portion of the sole is rolled up high, resulting in a bold and distinctive design.

2) Colors & Materials

The 'SP-MX5' released in 2025 adopted a glamorous coloring symbolizing the Roadster and garnered much attention. This second installment refreshes that worldview, unfolding in two chic colors: 'SPORT TAN/BLACK' and 'BLACK/BLACK'.

'SPORT TAN/BLACK' is a chic and modern beige color also used in the interior of Mazda's new CX-5, creating an impression of high quality and refinement. It is a popular color that has been highly evaluated, having previously been used in the interior of the Mazda Roadster as well. In addition, the upper material utilizes lightweight, soft, and durable kangaroo leather. To reinforce the connection between the upper and the sole, suede material is used, achieving the high flexibility, thin sole, and reinforcement of the outer instep required for driving shoes.

3) Custom Shoe Box

The shoe box is a custom specification featuring shoe sketches drawn by a Mazda car designer. It expresses the fusion of SPINGLE's unique handmade warmth and precise car design.
