Super Shark Co., Ltd. officially announced the next-generation RPG development tool 'RPG-Cobo' and launched its beta test on June 5, 2026, which is scheduled to run until autumn 2026. RPG-Cobo is an open-source, multi-platform 3D RPG creation platform featuring high-resolution voxel art and modern rendering technologies like PBR rendering and global illumination (GI). The tool is published on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 license, making both the platform and its assets completely free for commercial use and redistribution. The tool allows creators to export games to Windows, web browsers, Android, and iOS, and supports AI-powered multi-language translation. The project is led by Yutaka Owada, a former CyberStep board member and chief development officer known for titles like GetAmped and Teravit, who spent two years developing RPG-Cobo after leaving the company in 2024. During the beta period, a game creation contest with prizes and special perks is planned. Feedback is gathered via their official Discord, X (Twitter), and blog.
