SEGA Corporation will hold a one-day real event 'SEGA UNIVERSE PLAYGROUND' and a limited-time shop 'SEGA UNIVERSE POPUP STORE' as part of the project 'SEGA UNIVERSE' to communicate the new charm of past IPs, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Shibuya PARCO.

The event, themed 'BREAK THE SCREEN,' will bring SEGA's classic titles out of the screen and offer new experiences through music, art, graphics, talk shows, food, and other multi-faceted content.

Additionally, the limited-time shop 'SEGA UNIVERSE POPUP STORE,' which handles goods from 'SEGA UNIVERSE' titles, will open from August 7 (Fri) to August 30 (Sun).

'SEGA UNIVERSE PLAYGROUND' Program Program (1): Kohji Korogi Appears! Special Talk Show for the 30th Anniversary of 'Sakura Wars' Time: Part 1 14:00-14:45 / Part 2 16:45-17:30

A talk show by Kohji Korogi, the original creator of 'Sakura Wars,' will be held. Part 1, titled 'Sakura Wars Eve - The Path to the Project,' will feature Korogi discussing the birth of 'Sakura Wars,' from its conception to the launch of the project, and the drama surrounding its creation. Part 2, titled 'Sakura Wars - A Storm of Romance in the Taisho Cherry Blossoms,' will delve into the phenomenon that transcended the game's framework after its release, causing many fans to go wild.

<Participants> Kohji Korogi ('Sakura Wars' original creator) Born in Tokyo in 1954. A director and character maker. After founding 'Red Company' in 1976, he became a hitmaker in toy planning and anime, later expanding into novels and comics. In 1996, he planned 'Sakura Wars' released by SEGA, serving as the general producer for its expansion from games to stage and music. He continues to be active in various fields, including stage direction and TV anime originals. Atsuko Uchida (Host) A freelance announcer. After leaving East Japan Broadcasting, she became a freelancer. She served as a regular cast member on NHK's 'Oha!4 NEWS LIVE' for about 10 years. From 2023 to 2025, she also worked as an employee of SEGA Corporation. Her YouTube channel has over 100,000 subscribers, and she is active in various fields.

Program (3): Limited-Edition Design T-Shirt Making Workshop Time: 13:00-17:00 / Participation Fee: 5,000 yen (tax included)

A workshop to create T-shirts with screen printing using graphic designs from 'Sakura Wars,' 'Out Run,' and 'Dynamite Headdy' will be held. The designs are by Kenya Ebina, a lecturer at Bantan Design Institute, and the screen printing is done by students from the Textile Department of Musashino Art University, allowing participants to experience the charm of SEGA IPs as cutting-edge graphic content.

Program (4): Food & Drink Sales in Collaboration with 'ON THE CORNER Shibuya' In collaboration with 'ON THE CORNER Shibuya' in the B1F of Shibuya PARCO, food and drinks themed around 'Rent-A-Hero,' 'Bare Knuckle,' 'Sega Ga Ga,' and 'Fantasy Zone,' as well as the collaboration beer 'NO OLD, STAY GOLD' from 'SEGA UNIVERSE,' will be sold.

About 'ON THE CORNER Shibuya' 'ON THE CORNER Shibuya' is an American diner & cafe located on the basement 1st floor of Shibuya PARCO. It offers a stylish space reminiscent of a New York cafe, where you can enjoy authentic smash burgers and shakes after meals. It is also recognized as a cultural spot where fashion, music, and art enthusiasts gather.

Program (5): Collaborative Art Exhibition by High School Student Artist SORA An artwork interpreting the imaginary 'Sega Saturn' in the 'dream world,' the stage of 'NiGHTS into dreams...,' as a collage art by current high school student artist SORA will be specially exhibited.

SORA Born in Tokyo. Started graffiti at the age of 8, creating collages and paintings inspired by ethnic, signboard, garbage, 3D models, music, and more. Also creates genre-less cosmic sound collage mixes edited with ASMR and ethnic music. Turns the entire space into an artwork along with visual and auditory elements, and holds exhibitions. At the solo exhibition 'N U R,' he developed a sound installation using projectors.
