The 'Summer! Sea! Mochinyan Summer Festival' currently being held at Seibu Shibuya has expanded its event area due to popular demand.

Adjacent to the main venue on the 2nd floor of Wing A, a new corner called 'Mochi Art' has been created to showcase the charm of locally rooted art. This project introduces artists who are deeply connected to their regions and infuse their works with local culture and people's sentiments, all encountered by the character 'Mochinyan'.

For the inaugural exhibition, three artists who love the Shonan area have gathered in Shibuya.

Watercolor painter Hideaki Kita is highly acclaimed for his delicate depictions of the Shonan coast and its seasonal landscapes, capturing a sense of transparency. hirosato produces art that vividly captures the life force of the sea through bold colors, creating a deep sense of immersion. Film director Kumiko Nagao captures the subtle movements of the heart that exist in everyday life, creating works that evoke storytelling.

'Mochi Art' aims to be more than just an exhibition; it seeks to bridge the gap between regions and artists. Future collaborations with '365cafe' are also planned.

'Mochinyan' was born in Taiwan in 2013 and became a popular character, serving as the mascot for the Taipei Metro. An anime version is currently available for streaming.
