Nifco Launches Pilot Project for Heatstroke Prevention System in Ota Ward Schools

Nifco Inc. (Headquarters: Yokosuka, Kanagawa; President: Masaharu Shibao) has initiated a pilot project for its school-oriented heatstroke prevention system, 'NETSZERO™', at public elementary and junior high schools in Ota Ward, Tokyo.

### Background The Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology recommend measuring the 'Heat Stress Index' (WBGT) to judge whether to conduct physical education classes or club activities. Previously, teachers had to manually measure this index by visiting schoolyards and gymnasiums, creating a significant workload.

### Features of NETSZERO™ Developed by Nifco, the system utilizes outdoor and indoor sensors. The measured WBGT data is accessible in real-time via PCs, smartphones, or tablets through a cloud server. Key features include:

- Visualization of temperature, humidity, and WBGT by area. - No large-scale wiring required due to the use of wireless sensors. - Real-time remote situational awareness via the internet. - Export of historical data as CSV for analysis and use as educational materials.

### Future Outlook This system has already been implemented in 70 public schools in Yokosuka City and received the Encouragement Award in the Service & Solution category at 'MCPC award 2025.' The collaboration at 'HANEDA INNOVATION CITY' in Ota Ward led to this pilot project. Following a trial period ending in March 2027, Nifco will verify and refine the system, aiming for full-scale implementation by April 2028.
