Biome Inc. (Kyoto City, CEO: Shogo Fuji) has launched the demo version of its new service, 'BiomeBoard,' designed to visualize natural capital risks across entire supply chains and support companies from TNFD-related disclosures to business implementation (https://biome-board.com). Companies that inquire via the dedicated website will be offered early access to experience the service during its development phase.

What is the Natural Capital Visualization Tool 'BiomeBoard'?
Overview
'BiomeBoard' is a natural capital visualization tool that integrates the 'collection, evaluation, and management' of natural capital information. It transforms natural capital data from mere 'assessment targets' into 'manageable assets,' providing a foundation not only for risk mitigation and compliance but also for creating new value through the strategic use of natural capital.
Three Key Strengths of BiomeBoard
① Natural Capital Metrics Aligned with State of Nature (SoN)
Implements a variety of metrics aligned with State of Nature Metrics. Enables analysis using Biome's strength in biodiversity big data.
② Ensuring Traceability Across the Value Chain
By simply inputting location and industry information for direct operations, upstream, and downstream sites, the tool visualizes natural capital information for each site. Through information linkage with suppliers, it ensures traceability across sites within the supply chain.
③ Compatibility with Frameworks such as TNFD
Plans to sequentially support natural capital-related disclosure frameworks including TNFD, SBTN, CDP, and EUDR.
Core Features and Example Challenges Addressed
*Note: The features and screens introduced in this release are from the development demo version.
【Automated Evaluation and Aggregation of Natural Capital Metrics from Site Location Data】
Function: By registering site locations and industry information, the system automatically overlays environmental risks, governance indicators, and high-resolution regional data, visualizing everything on a single screen.
Challenges Addressed:
Overcomes the limitation of coarse macro data that makes risk identification difficult. In regions with high-resolution data, enables highly accurate screening tailored to the company's operational context.
【Ensuring Traceability Through Information Collaboration with Suppliers】
Function: Lead companies (owners) and subsidiaries or branches (branches) collaborate on a shared platform to collect primary data such as surveys and questionnaires from the field.
Challenges Addressed: Solves issues of data fragmentation and lack of mechanisms to involve trading partners, establishing traceability up to the most upstream sources and solid data asset management.
【Analytical Functions for Frameworks such as TNFD】
Function: In addition to comprehensive basic analysis, application-level analytical functions aligned with TNFD and SBTN will be sequentially implemented.
Furthermore, integrates field survey data collected via the company's own product, 'BiomeSurvey.'
Challenges Addressed:
Addresses the issue of one-time disclosure efforts that fail to link to business improvements. By combining future application analyses with on-site survey data as empirical evidence, it supports continuous transition toward effective natural capital management.
【Additional Intelligence to Support Natural Capital Management】
Beyond the above, the following features and experiences are planned for gradual expansion:
- Aggregation and dashboarding of analysis results
- Overlaying with industry, political, and economic information
- Deriving nature-positive actions and progress tracking
- Due diligence for business risks related to natural capital, etc.
【External Integration】 Collaboration with In-House Product 'BiomeSurvey' for Field Surveys
BiomeBoard will integrate with 'BiomeSurvey,' Biome's field survey tool, enabling integrated management of survey planning, execution, and result incorporation. This allows users to supplement missing data, seamlessly replacing estimation-based evaluations with measured data, thereby enhancing analysis accuracy.

Development Background
Currently, corporate environmental responses are shifting toward practical challenges involving financial risks and legal obligations, such as compliance with TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures), EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation), SBTN (Science-Based Targets for Nature), and SoN (State of Nature).
However, traditional tools have been limited to one-off data sales or static report generation, leaving users as passive 'consumers' of external data and analysis results. This creates practical barriers such as 'inability to assess risks at company sites or suppliers due to coarse data,' 'inability to manage comprehensively due to fragmented domains,' and 'lack of mechanisms for active data updating and accumulation.' Additionally, the issue of disclosure efforts being one-off and failing to connect to management decisions or business improvements has become evident.
Biome emphasizes the evolution of biodiversity conservation into 'practical implementation.' Therefore, recognizing the need for practical, collaborative tools that not only 'promote' conservation but also 'execute together' with clients on-site, Biome has developed 'BiomeBoard.'
The key advantage is that users can seamlessly achieve upstream risk visualization and comprehensive management simply by inputting their site information. The tool aims to function as a foundational platform supporting continuous natural capital management and new value creation across diverse business scenarios.
Future Outlook
Sequential Compliance with Major International Frameworks and Regulations
Plans to launch the 'TNFD-Compliant Dashboard' by around November 2026, coinciding with COP17. Further development will continue to support various frameworks.
Implementation of Features Supporting Nature-Positive Economic Transition Strategies
Plans to sequentially implement additional board functions needed in practical business settings, beyond mere report generation for disclosure.
(Examples) Implementation of features supporting CDP, ISSB, CSRD, SBTN, EUDR, land development risk assessment, raw material procurement risk assessment, environmental due diligence, natural capital accounting, biodiversity value assessment, green infrastructure design/evaluation, nature-positive finance, nature-inclusive sites, etc.
Scalability for External Integration
Designed to ensure scalability, enabling connections not only with BiomeSurvey but also with other data providers and analytical tools.
