Founded in 2009 in Vienna, Austria by Alexander Ljung, WienerBlut is a unisex fragrance brand. The name, meaning 'Viennese Spirit,' is derived from the title of the waltz composed by Johann Strauss II in 1873. The brand recreates the essence of fin-de-siècle Vienna—a period of extraordinary cultural flourishing in the Austro-Hungarian Empire—using luxurious natural raw materials. The scents are complex and deep, yet light and pleasant. The bottles, designed with a modern interpretation of 19th-century perfume vials and Viennese pharmacy bottles, are also striking.
