Fujie Textile will make its debut at 'Interior Lifestyle,' to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from June 10 (Wed) to June 12 (Fri), 2026.
From the 'TEXTILE ART COLLECTION,' which inherits the 'Heartart' philosophy established in the 1970s with the ideal of 'bringing art into the heart,' the company will exhibit 'Between black & white,' a collaboration with graphic designer Ikki Kobayashi.
They will be exhibiting in the 'MOVEMENT' zone, which gathers the latest designs from around the world as recommended by the organizers.
Fujie Textile believes that by viewing fabric not only as a functional product but also as 'art,' the appeal of materials and techniques can be expressed more freely.
Through the 'TEXTILE ART COLLECTION,' the company aims to convey the textures, depth, and the warmth of human touch that only textiles can create as a single work of art.
This exhibition will feature 23 patterns from the 'Between black & white' series, which translates everyday landscapes and memories onto fabric through hand-printing by Kyoto artisans, allowing viewers to feel the beauty and preciousness of daily life.
'Interior Lifestyle' is an exhibition that attracts diverse visitors from both inside and outside Japan. In the 'MOVEMENT' zone, items with high design and added value are gathered. The company invites attendees to experience how textile art creates connections in this environment.
From Product to 'Art': New Value for Textiles
Fujie Textile, which has been involved in textile design development since the 1960s, launched 'Heartart' in the 1970s based on the philosophy of 'bringing art into the heart.'
The desire for people to enjoy textiles freely in their lives, just as one would decorate a room with art—going beyond products like curtains and cushions—has remained a core value to this day.
The 'TEXTILE ART COLLECTION' was launched in 2023, inheriting the 'Heartart' philosophy. While textiles are essential to daily life for clothing, curtains, and bedding, there are many unknown fabric producers and excellent weaving and dyeing techniques across Japan.
Fujie Textile focuses on these aspects, planning and developing this collection to convey the possibilities and joy of textiles. Textiles as art that colors a space allow for freer and more diverse expressions.
'Between black & white' features designs captured by graphic designer Ikki Kobayashi based on his daily life and memories, meticulously hand-printed by Kyoto artisans. The collection consists of 23 patterns.
While only a few pieces are currently displayed in the Fujie Textile showroom, this exhibition offers the first full-pattern display in the Kanto region since the 'gallery stoop' exhibition in June 2025.
