To commemorate its collaboration with the Paris National Opera, Petit Bateau held a 'My First Ballet' workshop for children ranging from mid-kindergarten to elementary school age on April 29, 2026 (Wednesday/Holiday) at Hillside Banquet in Daikanyama, Tokyo.
The workshop was implemented as an event embodying this season's theme, 'Freedom to Move.' Through stretches, barre lessons, and jumps, children experienced the joy of moving their bodies freely and encountered the beautiful movements unique to ballet.
On the previous day, April 28 (Tuesday), a press talk session was also held at the same venue. Ballet dancer Nozomi Iijima and Sae Okami, a professor at Kyoritsu Women's University and a dance critic, were welcomed to discuss the aesthetic sense and culture of physical expression fostered by the Paris Opera, as well as the thoughts behind this collaboration.
Former Tokyo Ballet Company dancer Yui Nikaido served as the instructor, with the workshop held in two parts: one for middle/senior kindergarteners and another for elementary school students, each with a program tailored to their age.
The limited capsule collection by Petit Bateau and the Paris National Opera combines designs inspired by the world of ballet with the ease of movement and comfort unique to Petit Bateau. It is currently on sale at Petit Bateau stores nationwide and on their official online boutique.
