WAYS, a private tutoring school specializing in junior and senior high schools (operated by Mates Co., Ltd.), will hold a '1st Semester Review Campaign' for its 2026 summer courses.

The application deadline is Friday, July 17, 2026. This campaign offers discounts of up to ¥23,000 on summer course fees, depending on the number of lessons taken.

The program is open to students from the 1st year of junior high to the 3rd year of high school attending junior and senior high schools, and can be taken at any of the classrooms located in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo, Nara, and Aichi.

Background of the Campaign

Junior and senior high schools tend to have faster-paced curricula and advanced learning compared to public schools.

If students do not sufficiently grasp the material learned in the first semester before summer begins, new topics will pile up at an even faster pace in the second semester and beyond, making it easy for learning gaps to lead to points lost on the next regular tests.

Conversely, whether students can review and solidify the first semester's content during the summer break, a long vacation, significantly impacts test scores in the second semester and the following academic year.

Many junior and senior high schools conduct achievement tests and assignment tests after the summer break, and the results often influence new semester grades.

Therefore, WAYS has decided to offer summer courses focused on reviewing the first semester and to implement this campaign to support that review.

5 Curricula for WAYS Summer Courses

WAYS' summer courses consist of 120-minute lessons, and students can combine the following curricula according to their individual learning status:

・WAYS Core Curriculum (English/Mathematics): A proprietary curriculum that carefully selects essential English and mathematics topics crucial for retention and progression. It includes dedicated test exercises to objectively assess mastery.

・Homework Support: Students work with instructors on the extensive homework unique to junior and senior high schools, with thorough review of problems that were not solved correctly. If necessary, similar problems will be practiced.

・Review of Weak Areas: Students will repeatedly practice topics left unmastered from the first semester, starting with easier problems, to ensure a strong start to the new semester.

・Post-Break Test Preparation: Curricula are designed to match the scope and difficulty of each school's tests, aiming to improve grades at the start of the new semester.

・Next Semester's Advanced Learning: Students will get a head start on the foundational concepts of mathematics and English topics to be covered in the next semester, ensuring they can keep up with classes after the summer break.
