YUHAKU Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Chief Brand Officer: Tomohiro Nakagaki) is pleased to announce that it has produced and supplied collaborative belts for TAAKK's 2027 Spring/Summer Collection, presented at Paris Fashion Week.
TAAKK is one of Japan's representative fashion brands, founded and led by designer Takuya Morikawa. Renowned for its original textile development and exceptional material expression, TAAKK continues to present its creations to the world on the global stage of Paris Fashion Week.
For the 2027 Spring/Summer Collection, TAAKK unveiled a collection inspired by flowers, nature, and the aesthetics of photographer Irving Penn, under the theme 'The Ability of Discovery.' Guided by the philosophy of re-examining existing materials and objects from new perspectives to reveal their essence, the collection explores innovative textile and structural expressions.
For this collection, yuhaku co-created belt items. The official show materials introduced them as 'Belts: Created in collaboration with yuhaku.'
A Shared Philosophy Toward Materials
Collaboration Born from a Shared Material Philosophy
TAAKK's vision is to elevate materials themselves into design through clothing.
Meanwhile, yuhaku has long pursued craftsmanship based on the concept of 'leather as canvas,' using unique hand-dyeing techniques to bring out the rich texture and depth inherent in leather.
What unites both brands is their shared approach of treating materials not merely as functional components, but as elements to be explored for their potential and transformed into new value.
To symbolize this shared philosophy, an original collaboration logo was created for this project, featuring the letter 'K' common to both brand names. By overlapping the two 'K's, the logo represents the fusion of both brands' creativity and craftsmanship, generating new value through collaboration.
As a product embodying this philosophy, a collaboration belt was developed, merging TAAKK's aesthetic world with yuhaku's leather craftsmanship. It was adopted as a key item within the collection.
Comment from Tomohiro Nakagaki
'TAAKK's creations are driven by a strong philosophy that believes in the potential of materials and seeks to generate new expressions from them.
We at yuhaku have also sincerely engaged with leather as a material, striving to maximize its inherent charm.
We are deeply honored to have collaborated with TAAKK on such a global stage.
We approached the leather not as a mere accessory, but as a standalone artwork that supports the entire collection's worldview.
Moving forward, we will continue to communicate the value of Japanese craftsmanship and manufacturing to the world.'

About the Leather Brand 'yuhaku'
yuhaku is a one-of-a-kind Japanese leather brand that embodies 'wearable art.'
Founded by Tomohiro Nakagaki, who developed a unique dyeing technique based on painting methods, yuhaku creates gradient beauty that transcends conventional leather norms.
This innovative technique involves layering 5 to 10 dyes by hand through multiple stages, requiring approximately 20 steps to complete. The resulting depth and three-dimensionality give the leather an artistic presence that captivates people worldwide.
yuhaku's dyeing technique is highly acclaimed both domestically and internationally, attracting visits from other brands seeking to learn from it. The brand uses premium European full-grain leather, meticulously hand-finished by skilled Japanese artisans. Through the 'patina' that deepens over time, the inherent character of leather merges with yuhaku's unique color beauty, allowing each piece to tell a personal story as it is used.
Currently, yuhaku operates flagship stores in Yokohama and Ginza. We invite you to experience the world of yuhaku, where leather carries the value of 'color' and artistry.
Each piece is dyed using yuhaku's proprietary dyeing technique.
