Life & Sports Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Toshimitsu Yamanoi), which operates the 'Body Function Sports Class' (commonly known as 'Karaspo') for children in Bunkyo-ku, is continuing to accept applications for trial lessons for the new academic year.
The months of April to June are peak times for school physical fitness tests and athletic meets. During this period, topics related to exercise, such as "50-meter sprint times" or "wanting to run faster," tend to come up more frequently within households.
At our classes, we are seeing an increasing number of consultations regarding requests like "I want to improve my running form," "I want to gain confidence for the athletic meet," and "I want to reduce my aversion to physical education."
The new term is a time when "awareness of exercise" naturally increases. As children transition into new environments and social circles, their awareness of physical activity within school life rises. It is common for emotions such as "I want to run faster," "I feel a gap between myself and my peers," or "I want to feel confident in PE" to arise, particularly through experiences like fitness tests and sports days.
We believe that this is a critical time to provide experiences that help children view exercise positively before they develop an aversion to it.
In our small-group instruction, we leverage the size to provide guidance tailored to each child's stage of development. We prioritize not just teaching technical skills, but accumulating small successes, fostering a sense of accomplishment, and creating a safe environment where children can challenge themselves. Additionally, we provide programs where children can enjoy moving their bodies, incorporating activities like tag and circuit training based on fundamental movements such as running, jumping, and throwing.
Currently, we are accepting trial lessons at four locations in Bunkyo Ward. The lessons are designed to be accessible regardless of previous sports experience, ensuring that children who may find PE challenging or lack confidence in sports can participate with peace of mind.
