Oyako no Jikan Labo (Live Enterprise Co., Ltd., located in Suginami-ku, Tokyo), which plans and develops picture book merchandise, has launched limited-edition commemorative goods for the 70th anniversary of the monthly picture book 'Kodomo no Tomo' as a joint project with Fukuinkan Shoten.

This project was realized to celebrate the major milestone of the 70th anniversary of 'Kodomo no Tomo,' which has been delivering stories to children across Japan since its first issue in 1956. Nostalgic yet newly designed stationery and acrylic keychains, intended for adults who were once children, began their sequential rollout in mid-April 2026. They are available at bookstores nationwide carrying the 'Ehon-ya-san MOE' line (excluding some stores) and the official Oyako no Jikan Labo online store.

A Lineup Selected Like a 'Treasure Hunt' from 70 Years of History From the countless works loved over a long 70-year history, eight titles were carefully selected for this commemorative merchandise project. The selection was made with Fukuinkan Shoten based on the concept of creating 'something adults can use in their daily lives and feel a sense of nostalgia.'

The process of choosing which picture books to feature was described by staff as a continuous, heart-wrenching experience akin to a treasure hunt, with everyone wanting to include their favorite works and scenes. While respecting the worldview of the selected masterpieces, the design aims for everyday usability. Whether in a bag or on an office desk, users can enjoy the nostalgia and the charm of picture books that can be rediscovered as an adult.
