Chamberfellows, the new fashion project led by Yoshitaka Tsuchiya—the man who established the outdoor brand CHUMS in the Japanese market—is set to host a special pop-up event titled "Countdown to summer" in Hayama.
CHUMS was founded in 1983 in Utah, USA, when a river guide created the "Original Retainer" to prevent sunglasses from falling. In Japan, the brand has flourished under the tagline "Open up, playfulness!" and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023, expanding its range from apparel like sweatshirts and T-shirts to bags and camping gear.
The upcoming pop-up will take place at SUNSHINE+CLOUD, a renowned lifestyle shop in Hayama known for its deep connection to coastal culture. This event marks the first public showcase of Chamberfellows, a brand that embodies the Japanese aesthetic of "IKI" while honoring the heritage and playful spirit of CHUMS. Visitors can expect a collection of high-quality relaxation wear designed for sophisticated adults who enjoy the seaside lifestyle.
