Opening Overview Rinascente Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kanazawa, Ishikawa Pref.; President: Toshinori Shoji) will open the Machiya lodging 'YADO RINA' in the Higashi Chaya District, Kanazawa, on Monday, June 1, 2026. This lodging is a private, one-group-per-day property (capacity: 2-3 guests). Situated on the main street of the Higashi Chaya district, the property occupies an entire building, providing a privileged view of the historic streetscape from the second floor.

Interior Design with Kaga Mizuhiki The defining feature of this lodging is its full integration of 'Kaga Mizuhiki,' a traditional craft of Kanazawa, into the interior decoration. The space was supervised and crafted by 'Tsuda Mizuhiki Origata,' which has preserved this technique for five generations in Kanazawa. The facility is adorned with Mizuhiki artworks symbolizing good fortune, such as a 'Mizuhiki Garden,' 'Mizuhiki Transoms,' 'Medetai' (congratulatory sea bream), and 'Sho-Chiku-Bai' (pine, bamboo, and plum). The interior transforms the stay into a celebration of tradition, embedding Mizuhiki as an architectural element rather than mere ornamentation.

Lodging Experience and Location The interior of 'Rina' is designed for small groups, featuring two Japanese-style rooms, a wide veranda, a kitchen, a restroom, a vanity room, and a shower area. On the first floor of the same building, 'Kanazawa Maimon Sushi Higashi Chaya Store,' operated by M&K Co., Ltd. (a group company of Rinascente), opened in April 2026, allowing guests to experience Kanazawa's culinary culture nearby.

Pre-opening Media Preview Prior to the opening, a media preview will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026. Media representatives are invited to tour the facility, take photographs, and conduct interviews. Applications are currently being accepted.

Heritage of Tradition Tsuda Mizuhiki Origata has preserved its techniques for five generations, beginning around 1915 when the first head, Sokichi Tsuda, developed the knotting of cords into sculptural 'decorations.' The decorations at Rina, utilizing traditional motifs like Pine, Bamboo, and Plum, are imbued with prayers for the safety and happiness of every guest who visits.
