Background of the Initiative In the medical field, a large number of imaging diagnoses and report confirmations are conducted daily amidst busy schedules, creating an environment where practitioners are prone to psychological fatigue. As a company supporting the infrastructure for remote medical imaging, we implemented this initiative to feature Kumamon on the admin screen, aiming to provide a brief moment of relief and enhance the user's experience the moment they open the system.

The Meaning Behind Introducing Kumamon Illustrations Kumamon is a symbol of Kumamoto Prefecture and a PR character with high recognition both domestically and internationally. We hope this adoption will help medical institutions feel a greater sense of familiarity. Furthermore, as a locally-rooted company, we will strive to be recognized as "Y's Reading, the company from Kumamoto."

No Impact on Functionality, Maintaining Conventional Usability The top priority in adding this feature was to not compromise the system's usability or the efficiency of diagnostic work. There are no changes to the main UI or functions, maintaining the same operability as before. The illustrations appear naturally during daily tasks, such as when checking imaging requests or viewing reports. Additionally, the Kumamon display can be toggled on or off in the settings, allowing for flexible use according to each medical institution's operational policies or user preferences. This adoption of Kumamoto's PR character "Kumamon" was born from the desire to offer even a small moment of comfort to the healthcare professionals who face a vast number of images daily. Having Kumamon appear in a corner of the screen would make us incredibly happy if it makes users feel that "there is a team from Kumamoto behind this." Of course, the design does not impair the efficiency or usability of diagnostic tasks, and the display can be freely toggled on or off. Y's Reading will continue to aim for services that stand by the medical field not only through technology but also through the accumulation of such small ingenuities.
