Overview World Collabo Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo), which holds the vision of "Opening the doors of the world through collaboration," will implement a special project to express friendship and peace between Sri Lanka and Japan at the "2026 Hiroshima Flower Festival" held from May 3 (Sun) to 5 (Tue), 2026. With the participation of the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Japan, the project will create new international connections from Hiroshima through exchanges in music, culture, and food.
Background and Significance Hiroshima is a special city that has continued to send messages about the importance of peace to the world. Now, marking the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombing, this message carries more weight than ever and must be passed on to the next generation. Sri Lanka showed a spirit of tolerance and understanding toward Japan at the 1951 San Francisco Peace Conference. This history is not just a scene of diplomacy but symbolizes the universal value of "overcoming conflict and moving toward the future." Japan and Sri Lanka, though having walked different historical paths, have been bound by the common ideal of "peace." Therefore, it is highly significant to re-examine the relationship between the two countries in Hiroshima and share its meaning with society. This initiative aims to respect past history while creating an opportunity for new friendship and cooperation toward the future.
