Marukyu Koyamaen began in the Genroku era when founder Kyujiro Koyama started tea cultivation and production in Uji Ogura, a village perfectly suited for tea. Since then, successive generations have dedicated themselves to improving the tradition and quality of Uji tea, and four generations later, the company also began selling tea.
