Iwakiyama Honpo's Summer Tradition: "Sandai Takana Manju"

"Sandai Takana Manju" is a popular limited-edition summer product every year.

Sandai Takana Manju

The filling, made with pork cut into two different sizes and seasoned with domestic takana (pickled mustard greens), is appealing for its balance of meaty umami and the moderate saltiness of takana. Since it does not contain garlic, it can be enjoyed casually in any setting.

For summer greetings to loved ones, the summer gift "Ryofu (Suzukaze)" is recommended.

Sandai Takana Manju

"Nagasaki Kakuni Manju," characterized by its melt-in-your-mouth tender simmered pork belly, and "Sandai Takana Manju," featuring the robust meatiness of pork and the crisp texture of takana. You can enjoy a luxurious comparison of these two contrasting textures and flavors.

Father's Day Gifts Also Available for a Limited Time

Father's Day gifts are available until Sunday, June 28. Among them, the "Gohobi Set" (Reward Set), which includes a total of 15 pieces in 6 varieties, is highly recommended.

Gohobi Set

Many fathers answer that "what they want for Father's Day is time with their family." The "Gochiso Set" (Feast Set) was born from the desire to have the whole family enjoy delicious food together.

It includes popular items across generations, such as the "Curry Flavor Kakuni Manju," which is popular with children, and "Kakuni Kiratoshi" (shredded simmered pork belly), recommended as a snack with drinks.

It is also recommended not only for Father's Day but also as a stock for the rainy season when shopping can be a hassle.

What is Nagasaki Kakuni Manju?

<28th Nagasaki Prefecture Specialty Product New Work Exhibition (1997) - Grand Prize Winner>

This dish, originally one of the courses in Nagasaki's unique banquet cuisine "Shippoku Ryori," was created by our founder, Hirotaka Iwasaki, with the wish to make "Tonpo-rou" (braised pork belly) more accessible and delicious. He carefully simmered pork belly and sandwiched it between fluffy dough. The pork belly used is Andes高原豚 (Andes Plateau Pork) from Chile. It is Iwakiyama Honpo's signature product. It also won the "Nagasaki Souvenir Grand Prize" in January 2019.
