The mystical lighting event 'Sekikawa Village History Romance: Hiyori no Mori' will be held in Sekikawa Village, Niigata Prefecture, on June 6 (Sat) and June 7 (Sun), 2026.

The main venue, 'Michi-no-Eki Sekikawa Katsura-no-Seki,' will feature a light-up display of approximately 4,000 bamboo lanterns and LEDs. Areas such as the Athletic Lawn Square, History Museum, and Tokatsura-en will be enveloped in soft, ambient light. The lanterns are scheduled to be lit starting from 18:00 on both days.

Designed for all ages, the event includes festival stalls (shooting gallery, ring toss, etc.) around the Chigurakan area, mini-train rides, pony and rabbit interactions, a history exploration rally, and an Instagram photo contest. A display of a 'Mini Orochi' (giant snake) is expected to be a popular photo spot.

Local food highlights include the 'Katsura-no-Seki Meshi' and 'Takekawa-zutsumi Chimaki Sets,' available in limited quantities. Additionally, on June 6 at 19:00, Shinobue player Yuko Tamura will perform in the 'Ensoukai: Toen no Hana' concert at Tokatsura-en, offering a special cultural experience in a historic garden setting.
