In addition to science, which has been offered in previous courses, this course will also feature hands-on learning in mathematics. The course will be held at four Benesse Science Class locations and nine Tokyo Individual Tutoring School locations.

Background

Despite a declining birthrate, the number of students taking junior high school entrance exams in the Tokyo metropolitan area remains high, indicating continued strong interest. This year, Benesse Science Class will again offer a "Junior High School Entrance Exam Course" for a limited time during the summer vacation. The purpose of this course is to deepen understanding of important topics in science and mathematics, which frequently appear in junior high school entrance exams, through experiential learning. For 4th and 5th graders, the course will cover fundamental science topics such as "Changes in the State of Water," "Changes in Weather," and "Balances and Levers," organizing cause-and-effect relationships through observation and experiments. For 6th graders, the course will tackle frequently tested themes that bridge mathematics and science, such as "Spatial Reasoning," "Volume and Capacity," and "Concentration of Aqueous Solutions," cultivating quantitative sense and three-dimensional imagination. By utilizing the extended summer vacation period to deepen their fundamental understanding of science and mathematics, students will build a solid foundation that will benefit their future exam preparation.
