In Tokushima Prefecture, the second-largest producer of Yuzu in Japan, unharvested Yuzu due to aging farmers and labor shortages is a significant issue. Yuzurikko Co., Ltd. purchases pesticide-free Yuzu directly to add value and preserve the industry for the future. To further expand awareness, the company will release new products themed around Yuzu 'peel,' titled 'Yuzu Peel / Yuzu Kohakuto,' on June 1, priced at 2,700 JPY (excluding tax). The products utilize the aroma of limonene found in the peel and are crafted as high-value sweets after carefully removing blemishes. The packaging adopts the motif of Tokushima's traditional 'Yusan-bako' box to promote local culture. The company plans to expand through both online and offline channels, aiming to contribute to increasing successors for Yuzu farmers and revitalizing agriculture.
