Hamada Corporation (Headquarters: Takatsuki City, Osaka Prefecture; Representative Director: Atsuyuki Hamada; hereinafter "the Company") has been selected for the "Fiscal Year 2026 Kitakyushu City Sustainable Environmental Business Development Subsidy" for the project titled "Feasibility Study on Solar Panel Reuse and Recycling Business in Thailand."

2. Project Overview

This project will assess the feasibility of introducing Hamada’s existing solar panel reuse and recycling business—already operational in Japan—to Thailand.

Thailand’s solar power capacity reached approximately 5 GW by April 2026, with the government raising its installation target to around 39 GW by 2037. As a result, concerns are growing over the future mass disposal of solar panels due to aging and natural disasters. Used panels are already appearing in the country. Solar panels contain hazardous substances such as lead and arsenic, requiring proper treatment. However, current practices in Thailand primarily rely on crushing, lacking advanced material separation and effective resource recycling.

Moving forward, the Company aims to establish strong partnerships with local governments and enterprises, transferring its advanced sorting and recycling technologies to reduce environmental pollution risks and promote a sustainable resource circulation model that does not depend on landfilling.

3. Future Outlook

By implementing solar panel reuse and recycling operations in Thailand, the Company aims to address serious environmental pollution issues and explore broader regional expansion with potential spillover effects to neighboring Asian countries.
