Thypoch Launches 'Eureka 28mm f/2.8 ASPH.' Lens for Leica M-Mount

Shoten Kobo Co., Ltd. announced the launch of the Thypoch 'Eureka 28mm f/2.8 ASPH.' lens for Leica M-mount, effective May 22, 2026.

Designed for photographers who cherish the experience of wandering the streets with a camera, the Leica M-mount system offers more than just image quality—it provides a natural field of view and a discreet presence. The Eureka 28mm f/2.8 ASPH. is a slim-profile wide-angle lens crafted to embody that essence of mobility and photographic freedom.

Inspired by classic lenses from the 1950s, this is the latest 28mm model in the 'Eureka' series. Its design draws from the renowned British-made Dallmeyer 35mm f/3.5 Anastigmat and the Ilford Advocate camera, reimagining that vintage look for contemporary environments. It is available in two colors: black and silver.

A value set including a mount adapter for Fujifilm X-mount is also available. The adapter maintains a compact form factor even when attached, ensuring a balance between classic style and modern performance.

To commemorate the launch, the first 50 customers who purchase the lens via the Shoten Kobo online store or their official e-commerce channels will receive an original pin badge.

The 28mm focal length captures both wide scenes and the atmosphere of a location, making it ideal for street snapshots, travel photography, and portraits. With its pancake-style design (approx. Φ52×21mm, 131g), it encourages carrying a camera daily.
