Dot-art editor "wombat2D" released to correct pixel distortion in AI-generated images

Tamura Giken Co., Ltd. (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) has launched "wombat2D" (https://wombat2d.com), a dot-art production support tool.

"wombat2D" is a tool that refines dot-art style images and illustrations generated by AI into accurate dot art that is easy to handle in game development and other applications.

It features a Pixel Refine function that corrects pixel distortion, blurred outlines, and color variations common in AI-generated images, as well as sprite sheet creation, color adjustment such as color merging and reduction, and general drawing tools. Development Background

The evolution of generative AI has made it possible for anyone to create draft illustrations and game assets in a short amount of time.

However, "dot-art style images" generated by AI, while appearing plausible, are often not pixel-perfect or have unclear outlines, requiring significant editing time to be used as assets.

"wombat2D" was developed to bridge the gap between AI-generated images and actual production environments.
