Oji Zoo x IKONIH Launch Wooden Educational Toy Featuring Beloved Koala Family – Made from Hyogo-grown Hinoki, 'Yurayura DokiDoki Zoo' Promotes Balance and Thinking Skills, Available July 18

ZOOQLE (Zukuru), the goods shop at Oji Zoo operated by Kintetsu Retailing Co., Ltd., and its online store Irodori Mall will launch a wooden educational toy titled 'Yurayura DokiDoki Zoo' on Saturday, July 18, co-developed with IKONIH (Aikoni), a domestic hinoki toy brand launched by Marubeni Timber Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Osaka).

This product was developed as an educational toy that uses animals beloved at Oji Zoo as motifs, enabling children to cultivate balance and thinking skills through play. Its distinctive feature is an unsteady, wobbling base: when animals are placed on top, the structure continues to move unstably. The delicate motion—seemingly about to collapse but never quite falling—captures children's interest and encourages repeated play as they think, 'Where should I place the next piece?'. Additionally, the base features the design of the zoo's iconic 'Koala Family,' a popular resident pair.

The materials include hinoki grown in Hyogo Prefecture and thinned timber, reflecting consideration for forest resource circulation and regional resource utilization. As a wooden educational toy co-developed by Oji Zoo and IKONIH, leveraging the unique charm of the zoo, it aims to spark children's interest in wood and forests through play, while delivering a warm, tactile wooden experience.
