Striders Corporation (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ryotaro Hayakawa) announces its participation as a co-host in the 'Narita Business Concept Project Research (1st Phase)' organized by the Business Design University. The program will primarily take place at the Narita Gateway Hotel.
This project involves companies from the Narita area as well as the Tsukuba area, a hub for research and technology. By viewing the region not as isolated 'points' but as a 'connected area,' the project aims to create new regional value and business opportunities through broad-area collaboration.
Under the theme of 'Now is the time for a "Second Opening of the Port" — Co-creating the future of a region that generates new businesses from Narita,' this program is a practical research initiative where local companies, research institutions, and diverse talent collaborate to tackle business concept planning and regional problem-solving.
For approximately one year, researchers will work alongside professors, guest lecturers, and participating companies from the Business Design University to formulate business concepts through field research and discussions.
While the Narita area is seeing functional enhancement of Narita Airport and surrounding regional development, the Tsukuba area hosts a variety of intellectual resources, including universities, research institutions, and startups. Striders believes that connecting these regional resources to foster interaction and co-creation is crucial for future regional development.
Narita Gateway Hotel is reinforcing its role as a 'regional co-creation hub,' serving as a place where diverse players such as local companies, educational institutions, research organizations, and entrepreneurs intersect, beyond just being a lodging base for airport users.
Through this project, the company will promote regional cross-sector business creation in various themes, including: - Tourism & Inbound - Utilization of regional resources - DX (Digital Transformation) - Regional branding - New business development - Industry-academia collaboration
Ryotaro Hayakawa, President and CEO of Striders, has long championed a 'Regional Trading Company Concept originating from Narita,' working to build new regional models that connect the local area with the global market.
Striders Group will continue to leverage its hotel business as a foundation to create opportunities for interaction connecting people, regions, industries, and the world, contributing to the development of a sustainable regional economy.
