Defying Seal Conventions, 'Motto Nekohara Inkan' Reproduces Cats Obstructing Names, Pre-Sale with Discount on Makuake from May 15th

Shiroyama Hakubundo Co., Ltd. will launch a pre-sale discount project for 'Motto Nekohara Inkan' on the crowdfunding service 'Makuake' starting May 15th.

This is an innovative design seal that overturns the common sense of seals, reproducing 'Nekohara' (cat harassment) where a cat hides part of a name.

Development Background: Pursuing the reproduction of 'Nekohara' that existing products couldn't satisfy

'Nekohara' (cat harassment) is a term that describes the feeling of pet owners who cannot get angry when their cat sits on a book they are reading or on a keyboard while they are working on a computer. While the general term 'harassment' usually carries a negative connotation, 'Nekohara' is a term filled with the affection of pet owners.

Our company had already released a seal named 'Nekohara Inkan,' which featured a cat reaching out its paw towards a name, but we felt it lacked impact. Therefore, this time, we deliberately deviated from the common sense of seals, which dictates that names (characters) should be stamped without being obscured. We designed a cat sitting in a box-like posture, hiding part of the name. This allowed us to faithfully reproduce the concept of 'Nekohara.'
