U-NEXT has begun exclusive streaming of the drama series 'Chiruran: Shinsetsu', a live-action adaptation of the popular comic book by Eiji Hashimoto and Maya Miyazaki. The series is set in the late Edo period and follows the story of the Shinsengumi, a group of samurai who fought to maintain the power of the Tokugawa shogunate. Kento Yamazaki stars as the main character, Toshizo Hijikata, alongside a talented young cast including Shinnosuke Mitsushima, Ayumu Nakajima, and Ryota Bando. The series also features a star-studded cast, including Takeru Satoh as Kiyokawa Hachiro and Ryo Yoshizawa as Okita Soji. Takumi Kitamura has joined the cast as Takasugi Shinsaku, a revolutionary who played a key role in the Meiji Restoration. The drama series consists of six episodes and will be streamed every Friday at 19:00 on U-NEXT.
