U-NEXT Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tsutsumi Amane), a member of the USEN & U-NEXT GROUP, announces the exclusive live streaming launch of the 'KLPGA Tour'—South Korea's premier women's professional golf tour—on its video-on-demand platform 'U-NEXT' starting Thursday, August 6, 2026. All second-half tournaments from August 6 onward, as well as the entire 2027 season, will be streamed live.
The KLPGA Tour, organized by the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA), has produced legendary players such as Park Se-ri. In recent years, world No. 3 Yu Hee-young, who has won two international majors this season, and world No. 4 Kim Hyo-joo, with nine career wins on the LPGA Tour (U.S. women's tour), have emerged from this tour to become global stars.
In Japan, Shin Ji-yai, who transitioned from the KLPGA to the LPGA before joining the JLPGA, has won five domestic majors and 29 tournaments overall, establishing herself as a leading figure on the Japanese tour. Lee Bo-mee, who competed in the JLPGA until 2023 with 21 career wins and two-time money titleholder, remains a fan favorite known for her exceptional skill and popularity.
Park Hyun-kyung: A Fan Favorite in Japan
Park Hyun-kyung, already popular in Japan, is competing in the 2026 KLPGA Tour season. Known for her precise shots from a graceful swing and striking appearance, she is affectionately nicknamed 'Cuteiful' in South Korea, a moniker that has gained widespread recognition.
Kim Min-sol, the 20-year-old who won this year's Korean Women's Open and currently leads the KLPGA rankings, and 21-year-old Yu Hyun-jo, ranked second and winner of the 2025 KLPGA Grand Award, are emerging as top talents of their generation. They are drawing global attention alongside Japan's top young players such as Kaede Suganoki and Yuna Araki.
U-NEXT will begin live streaming all KLPGA Tour events starting with the 'Jeju Samdasu Masters,' which opens on August 6. On August 20, the 'BC Card - Hankyoreh KLPGA Championship,' the tour's longest-running major, will kick off. Other major tournaments include the 'KB Financial Golden Life Championship' in September and the 'Hite Jinro Championship' in October.
Beyond its high level of competition, the KLPGA Tour is gaining global recognition for its players' stylish attire and fashion-forward presentation. This makes it appealing not only to golf enthusiasts but also to audiences interested in golf gear and fashion. Fans can enjoy the unique charm of the KLPGA Tour—distinct from the JLPGA and LPGA Tours—through U-NEXT's World Golf Pack.
