The CBC/TBS afternoon information program "GogoSma ~GOGO! Smile!~" announced that Keiichi Wakasa (Monday-Thursday) and Fumito Kawai (Friday) will serve as substitute MCs for one week starting July 6 (Mon), during which MC Ryoji Ishii will be on summer vacation.
Keiichi Wakasa, a CBC TV announcer whose substitute MC duties for GogoSma mark their fifth consecutive year, is also familiar from the "Rettō Chūkei" (Across the Nation Relay) segment of the morning information program "THE TIME," and last year he also served as a substitute host for TBS announcer Shinichiro Azumi. On GogoSma, viewers can look forward to his interactions with the colorful cast of commentators, as well as his signature impromptu insertions of Chunichi Dragons trivia.
Fumito Kawai, who also serves as a Friday commentator, will be a substitute MC for the sixth consecutive year. He participates in staff meetings every week, studies the program content and Ishii's MC style, and continuously strives for improvement, working in perfect sync with the staff.
<Keiichi Wakasa Comment>
I get nervous every year. Just when I think I'm getting used to it, it's over, and then a full year passes before the next substitute opportunity, so I never really get used to it. However, I believe that nervousness is the greatest source of energy that creates concentration, and I will do my best again this year!
<Fumito Kawai Comment>
Thank you, GogoSma, for entrusting the substitute MC role for Ishii-san to me, Fumito Kawai, again this year. I always perform my substitute MC duties for GogoSma with a good sense of tension. For me, who aims to be an MC, this is an incredibly valuable learning experience. This time too, I will thoroughly and wholeheartedly enjoy being the GogoSma MC!
